When Nissan and Infinity launched their new models a couple of years ago I
thought, "Take that, Toyota and Lexus, you self-righteous would-be paragons
of the industry. But I've noticed that a seemingly large number of 350Z cars
seem to be in the classified section of the papers and I've wondered: is the
economy stressing buyers into being sellers, are the cars a bit tough on the
buttocks to drive, or are they just too complicated to economically
maintain? I remember that the last 300Zs were finally outcast as a result of
being thirty grand (US dollars) to purchase (over a decade ago), and tough
as a block of granite to work on. What gives with the new Z? The new
Infinity G35 (close to the Z in engineering) is a foxy little number as
well, to say the least.

The owners are feeling the peer pressure to drive an SUV...
