Hello, I have a ’94 Nissan Altima GXE, and recent I went to get a
sticker and the person told me my front left coil spring was broken.
Now they also said I would also want to replace the other side at the
same time..and the parts would cost ~186 bucks without labor.  I have
been looking for information online and trying to check out some
prices on these coil springs, but am getting confused.  For example,
on Ebay they have alot of these COILOVER springs for sale...but i dont
think those are the same?  They also have LOWERING springs which look
like the coil springs...  Which would I want to buy, or should I just
go through my mechanic?  Thanks.

That's odd, I've never seen a broken spring.. Is the car leaning to one side
badly?

Neither, you need a factory replacement, junkyard should have plenty and
should be really cheap as like I said I've never seen a broken one.

That sounds like the best idea, especially is you get the wrong one and
there is a problem, you'll have to pay the labor twice..

OK thanks...one more question....  The garage said I would *WANT* to
replace the springs on both sides...I assume so the car stays level?
If I should replace both....and I go to a junkyard should i grab both
springs from the junked car, or what.  Thanks.

might also check strut, if old or worn, might consider replacing at same
time replacing spring.
