Frontier hazard lights blinking by themselves

Recently I noticed a problem with my 2000 Frontier hazard lights blinking
intermittently by themselves (without pushing on the the dash button at
all!). I brought it to my independent mechanic who felt it was connected to
the mfr alarm system and said the two were not synching correctly...so he
said to reset it altogether by lifting one of the battery cables off the
post for a few seconds and repositioned it afterwards. Yes, it did
work...until I left his shop afterwards. I even replaced the alarm remote
battery but to no avail...same problems. Any ideas what's going on and how
to remedy this problem?? What about the hazard switch being faulty?? Thanks

Well... I would do a little test. Turn on your hazards and note the
frequency of the lights flashing. Next, try the same experiment with
the alarm functioning (of course shut the regular hazards off first).
They will most likely not flash at the same rate of the regular
hazards. The next time the lights go wacky... which flash rate was it?
Alarm, regular hazards, or other? This could be a valuable clue in
isolating which circuit is involved.

Hi Professor:
It seems the blinking parallels fits the alarm, more so than the regular
hazard.
Now what should I do now?
Thanks-

Well... next you should probably think about disabling the alarm... to
make sure that is the culprit. If the problem goes away after you
disable... then you need to pursue a fix for the alarm system.
