CD Player acting strange?

2000 Nissan Sentra radio/CD player CY068.  When I insert the CD into the
player it waits awhile and gives an err message and ejects the CD most
of the time.  These same CD's play just fine on the computer and in the
CD player in my Stereo system. Sometimes it does play the same CD's it
usually ejects and the sound is just fine, no distortion, no skipping.
My dealer suggested that I buy a new CD player from BEST BUY or like
business.  The CD player looks like it is a part of the radio.  Any
suggestions as to what may be wrong and can it be fixed?

Thanks,

Marvin

Their point was: more than likely a new radio/cd player will be cheaper than
trying to get the factory one fixed.

Steve, thanks for the input, but was hoping someone had a similar
problem and knew of a fix.

Try one of those CD cleaning kits, there may just be some junk on the laser
"eye".

My cd player is doing the same thing.  Cleaning it didn't work.  I've tried
it a million times.  What did you need up doing Marvin?  Thanks in advance.
