What to use for turn signal switch lube?

I had a weird problem with the turn signal lever in my Altima today..  after
returning to the neutral position after making a left turn, the signal relay
would continue clicking back and forth, but faster than normal.  While this
was happening, the signal lights themselves were not lighting.

I had the switch out and apart tonight, and aside from some slightly dirty
contacts, everything looked fine inside the switch mechanism.  I wiped clean
all of the contacts and used some dielectric grease on them all before
putting them back together.

Is this the right type of grease to use in this application?  I didn't know
what else to use from what I had on the bench, and surely this stuff will
keep things clean and be safe for high current contacts.

Once I had things all put back together, the everything worked fine again,
so unless there's a better grease to be using in there, I'll leave it well
enough alone.

petrolium jelly is the best lube for electrical contacts, but if its working
now then leave well alone as you say.

Any light grease should be fine. I think you have to remember that the
mechanism there doesn't really get a lot of use... certainly not
continuous... so it really doesn't need much lube.
