Took me about an hour by myself on my '01.  It's easier if you have a buddy
to help hold things
in place.

Google: trailer hitches.

But shipping can be expensive.

Where did you guys route the trailer wiring plug through to the outside?  I
bought the kit that plugs into the existing harness but couldn't figure out
a good way to pass the trailer wiring to the outside of the vehicle without
drilling a hole.  So for now I stow the end with the trailer plug in the
compartment under the mat, and hang it out through the back gate when I need
to use it.  This is will be a pain if I ever have to use it often though.

I bought the Hidden Hitch also for my 01.  About 45 minutes to install....
FYI there are two models of the Hidden Hitch, the one that has a straight
bar that runs across the back (hardly "hidden") and the other that's a few
bucks more that conforms to the spare tire.

thanks,
d.

The wiring for the left (US drivers side) lights comes up through a rubber
boot.
I punched a hole in that boot to feed the wire through.  I spent far longer
figuring
out how to get the wire from the boot to the hitch receiver in a sanitary
manner.
Unsanitary routings were obvious.

I put a Class III "Hidden Hitch" on a used 2001 I bought last spring.
Although, the hitch was sitting around unpackaged at a local hitch
distributor, so I touched it up with flat black Rustoleum before mounting
it.  It is a one piece hitch that is bit sleeker than the Nissan 3 piece
hitch.  Mounting holes (for the 4 bolts) are already on the vehicle, so
you do not need to drill anything.
