Hello,
I have a 2001 Pathfinder 4x4 LE with 111,000 miles, and the service
engine light just came on. I took it to Autozone and had them pull the
code, which is P1110, and that is all they could tell me. P1110 has
something to do with the variable valve timing control (VTC) circuit on
the right bank I believe. Dealer tells me that its either the VTC
sensor or the solenoid, and I will have to test each. Haynes book says
to check ground connection on PCM before anything else, which is what I
plan to do.
I was just wondering if anyone has seen this code before, and what they
did to fix it.
Thanks,
Paul

It came up once on my '02 Pathfinder immediately after driving through a
strong gust of wind (at 75 MPH). I simply reset the code and it has not
recurred in 9 months and over 15,000 miles. My guess is the momentary blast
of air blew its mind (so to speak).

This code set because the computer saw a value for the intake valve
timing control solenoid that was out of range. I would check all
connectors involved with this device before replacing it. They are the
most likely suspect...
