Hello all,
since I'm a big Nissan fan, my mother in law was in the market for a
used minivan, so I steered her to the Quest. We picked one up with 74K
miles. I'm surprised at how spirited the engine is, but I guess that's
the Nissan style:) The manual refers me to the dealer to do the
anti-freeze change. Can't I do it myself? I've done it on my 98 Maxima,
on 98 Altima etc. Any catch? Thanks.

If you're familiar with changing coolant on other vehicles... this one
shouldn't be much different.

purging the air out of the system can be time consuming, due to the rear
heater and system design. there is a air purge bolt on top of engine to
help with purging. many have found it difficult to purge the air in one
sitting.
one technique is to park car on a incline with front end of car pointing
up to help bleed out the air. Recommend getting a factory service manual,
if you plan to work on the van yourself.
There is allot of info at villagerquest egroup at

Recommend, joining the group and searching in the archived msg or ask the
question. Lots of villager/quest owners to pull experiences from.
Also the est. on timing belt replacement can be answered there.
