I have Nissan sentra (92), today trying to start the car, every time I
turn the key to start it, it simply activates the horn instead.

It does not activate or attempt to start the engine (no sound).

Any ideas what this could be?

Thanks

Engine immobilser?

Greg.

it does not have one. It's as if the horn is connected to the key
instead of the starter.
Thanks

Taking apart the plastic covers to expose the wires and the key chain,
when I reached the last screw close to the pedals, this is when I was
shocked to see this hidden switch; and remembered your post!! :)

it was some kind of Engine immobilser as you expected!

I have the car for almost nine years and never saw it or were told
about it!

I'm happy I resolved it, thanks
