Ditto. I bought a new one for my Pathfinder for about $35 on Ebay. There's
was a special sequence to program it for the vehicle...stand on one leg with
the door open, turn around 3 times, jump up and down 5 times, then honk the
horn...or something like that. I forget the exact sequence and it may or
may not be different between the altima and pathfinder. Seriously there is
a simple sequence to program the fob for your vehicle if you don't want to
pay the dealer to do it for you.

Does the sequence info (instruction) comes with the item bought? If
not, how did oyu find out the sequence?

mine didnt come with the instructions but a quick google search yielded
several; suggestions of which 2 worked, also, nissan dealers will setup the
remote for a small fee

Usually not, as someone else said you'll need to do a google search. It
looks like it's the same for many Nissans though...
