Van has power windows on front driver's side and passenger's side. On
the driver's door, the window will not roll down. It is up now, and if
I press the 'up' button then it seals itself more tightly, indicating
the motor is working. However, if I press down then nothing happens,
but I do hear a click. Passenger window works fine from same driver's
side door switches. I took the door panel off to look around and I see
some sort of box (relay?) between the switches and the motor. Since the
motor apparently wants to work going up, is it reasonable to assume it
should work going down as well? Since I hear a click, I think that
means the switch is working as well. So I'm left thinking this box must
be the problem. I'm planning to get a tool to test the connections
coming from it when I press 'down', but I don't have it yet. Am I on
the right track? If so, is the solution to replace that box? Where
would I find a replacement?

even though the switch makes noise when you try rolling the window down, i
suggest cleaning the switch anyway
