2002 Frontier Brakes

I just replaced the pad and turned the front rotors on my 2002 Nissan
Frontier 2WD.  No when I press the petal, I get a pumping feedback
sensation much like an ABS eguipped vehicle trying to stop on a washboard
road.  I've done lots of brake jobs on non-ABS vehicles.  Is there
something I missed or should have done differently?

did you resurface the rotors?

if not , you need to start with that

Sure did.  Had them both resurfaced.  Unless they somehow got one of them
out line on the lathe, I can't explain whats happened??

I'll bet there's excessive run-out on one or possibly both rotors.
Sometimes it happens when the rotors are just slapped on the lathe.  The
bearing adapters used on the brake lathes aren't an exact fit (like the
tapered bearings used to mount the rotor to the spindle).  While the rotor
is on the lathe, even when it's locked down, if struck sharply or is hit by
a single cutting bit that's extended too far, will throw the rotor out of
alignment .  More that likely, the total run-out is exceeding the max limit.
The only way to check it is to use a dial indicator.

When you pushed the old pads apart to get room for the new pads, did you
open the bleeder on the caliper or loosen the brake hose to keep reverse
pressure from the sys. or just use the Polish method and force them apart?
Guess what, you may have ruined the ABS. Never put too much back pressure on
an ABS sys. Always open up the sys. to retract the caliper pistons. You
needed to flush and bleed the sys. anywho, so why the shortcut?
