My 1992 Previa, 2TZ-FE  2WD, auto trans, is (and has done since I've owned
it) getting about 11mpg (22 L /100km).
Is believe this is excessive, and would expect more like 20mpg (12 L/100km).
Am I dreaming expecting this?
This motor runs very well, has fresh plugs/leads filter etc? What could be
causing  this poor effeciency?

I posted to this group by mistake - my apologies, although I did get some
excellent advise from the Toyota group.
I must thank you Marco for ability to offer me some constructive advice.
Yes, it's atrocious, that's why I asked for help, should I have ignored it?
Also, thank you for teleporting yourself to my house, giving the vehicle an
emmission test and enlightening us with your unfounded drivel.
The emmissions are fine, and polluting "your" air with a hell of a lot less
than the crap coming from you.

Thanks again ;-)

For your info my crap is PZEV: partially zero-emissions vehicles which
happens to be 2004 Nissan Sentra, making 40+mpg after removing nonessential
weights (official rating 29/35mpg), OK so comparing to that yours indeed
pollutes air based on my standards.  It may've passed your local emissions
test, but here is New York and same for California (my model is so-called
CA-emissions rated anyway) and our standards are extreme, nothing but warm
air comes out of my tailpipe an di smile at gas prices knowing thewy wont
mak eme angry until the yhit $4.50/gallon heheheheHEHEHA MWAHAHAHA

Marco,
I wasn't stating that my vehicle produced any less pollutants than yours, I
did, however, defend the fact that you do not know what my emissions are,
and you made all assumptions that because the vehicle is 13 years old, it is
rubbish.
I smile when I fill up, and will not get angry when the price rise. It's
$1.40 per litre ($3.75 per US gallon ) and my employer pays for it.
I did only ask the question for advise, and took offence to your reaction.
If I buy a vehicle that produces cleaner emissions than yours,  could I take
say to you "Kill it, buy a new car" or "belong to a junkyard, please, dont
pollut emy air with your old crap" ?

Greg.

STICK IT MARCO!!!
poster Greg was asking a honest question about a mileage problem he's
having.  He wasn't asking for your preaching.
If you don't like having older things around polluting the air, why don't
you end your miserable life?  After all, you're getting older day by day and
are an active contributor to the pollution problem.  "Partially
zero-emissions" is a load of crap unless you're driving an alternate fuel
vehicle.  you're sentra has an internal combustion engine with modern
emission control devices to lower emissions, but I dare you to leave the
engine running in an enclosed garage while you kick-back and and breath-in
you partially zero-emissions!
