Looking to replace the radio in a 96 Sentra.
Can somebody give me an idea as to where to start in pulling off the
surround. Where are the screws hidden behind and what is held on by
clips? Have had the glovebox out and that sidepanel off but couldn't
see the next locical step.
A hint on the colour coding of the wiring would help also. Does Nissan
have a 'standard' code they use on their looms on all models or is each
one different
Have been to the local library and their selection of manuals is crap.

I it's like the 200SX (the other B14), there is a rectangle between the
flasher button and the defroster button, the bottom of that rectangle has a
slot, pry it off there, then unscrew the screw underneath it. You should be
able to pop the surround off after that.
I never messed with the wire colors, I just bought an adapter at the store
when I installed a new radio...

Thanks.. But I'm afraid that won't work. There are 4 buttons across the
front (The 2 outers are blank...cheap model) but the surround between
them is all one piece ('bout half inch wide) and that surround is one
piece which forms most of the centre console.
There is one screw down under the ashtray but looks like you then have
take off all the surround right down to the gear shift.
But the radio is above all that and fits in the same surround that goes
right across the speedo to the other side of the dash.
I'll do some more headscratching
