My 4 position switch for my heater/ A/C blower only works on the 4th
speed.  1 thru 3 do not work.  I was told the resistor block needs to be
replaced.
1. Where is it located?
2. Will I have to replace the blower also, due to maybe the resistor
block is located inside the blower?
3. Is this an easy job?, or will I have to take apart part of my dash
board to get to the blower area?
In other words what are the steps I should take to repair this
problem.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If it's the same setup as was in my 94 Altima, you can swap out the part
with a new one in about 2 minutes .  Look under the glove compartment at the
ducting around the blower motor and you'll find an electrical connector
plugged into something with a screw on either side of it.  Unplug the
connector, take out the screws, and you should be able to pull the resistor
pack out.  It's a flat panel with some traces on it for the different fan
speeds.

It's a relatively inexpensive part, I think I paid $50 CDN for mine from the
dealer.

Hope that answers your question :)

And from what I've read in this group before, there is a good chance you
will only need to resolder the joints.

Cheers
Paul.

Hm, I'll have to try and remember that in case (when) the resistors go in my
99!
