I'm thinking about buying a new 2005 Pathfinder. Are there any horror
stories I need to hear?

Car payments and gas prices.

yup, thinking of getting rid of mine. pathfinder is good but when u brought
it 4 years ago when gas was at 1.15, but at 3 bucks? time to rethink. beside
its going up some predict it at 5 bucks soon. supply supposedly is running
thin to keep up with demand.

I agree these gas prices are outrageus!
gas keeps going up and engines are getting bigger
I see the new pathfinder has gone up again to a 4.0 instead of the
recent 3.3 that replaced the 3.0 just only a few years back. The 3.0
had been used for a long time and was plenty powerful for the average
consumer. It was just too weak for those wanting to tow heavy loads on
a regular basis

I also like the look of the UK Pathfinder.

UK or USA diesel or petrol/auto or manual?

Actually- the gas mileage ratings on the new 4.0 liter motors are
better than the 3.3 and 3.5's.

The only real issue I have heard on the 2005's, is a faulty weld or
broken structural  weld somewhere in the firewall/cowl area. It is
causing some rattling and vibration and other noise in more than a few
Pathy's.

The fix involves soemhow getting in there and bolting it up- although
it is real tough to do. Nissan Engineers supposedly working on WHY  it
broke, and how to fix CORRECTLY. Many folks don't want the dealers
trying to hack it.

I read about these issues on both 4x4parts.com in their forums, and
also on Edmunds.com in their forums section on Nissan Pathfinders.
