nissian z timing

i have a 1988 nissian pickup with a 4 cylinder z24 motor i put a new head
gasket kit in now i'm trying to set the timing i went by the book
(CLYMER)but it doesn't seem to be right ithas the setting for a regular 4
but knot the z motor i'm trying to find where should the rotor be pointing
to both number1's or just 1 if so witch 1the intake or exhaust thank you
for any info

You want to deal with intake #1 and follow the sames steps as a Z22 or
L20B which ever they show you.
