Airborne,
There is no "Recall" per se. However there is a TSB (Technical Service
Bulletin) for an extensive brake system improvement on the 2004 and some
very early production 2005 Titans. This TSB corrects a brake "judder" issue
and brings the older Titans up to the same level as new Titans. It was not
a safety issue but the resolution of concerned owner complaints. I've heard
no reports of Titan brakes overheating.
Had it done to my 04 Titan this week. It took about 2.5 hours including the
paperwork. The dealer had all the required parts on hand. Replacements
included all rotors and pads, some bolts, and a torque member.
For more info than anyone could possibly use go to Titantalk.com forums. If
you own or contemplate the purchase of a Titan I recommend you join the site
as it is free and there is a good community of members. FWIW I really,
really like my Titanafter 14 months of ownership.
