Experiencing loud sporadic radio/speaker static only in FM mode (affecting
all stations)...........but is clear when in AM or CD mode.

Any ideas what could be causing this?  Appreciated. Thx.

Are you using the rear defroster when you hear the static?

Perhaps the antenna  plug has come undone either from the headunit or
the antenna itself...

Just a thought.

makes total sense....a good blast of WD40 should help also...

Where would you apply the WD40? I'm confused.
