Okay, after getting the ECU to cough up it's problem, it returns code
number 41. This is a 91 Hardbody so I'm assuming it's the KA 24E
engine. Can anybody elaborate on what this sensor is, where I can find
it, and any guesses on how much it costs to replace?
The Sensor is called:
Air Temperature Sensor Circuit

I think it's the sensor in the intake ducting and measures the temp of
the incoming air. It might be bad or there might be a problem with the
connector or wiring.

On my 97 model it is on the bottom of the air cleaner housing. It is a small
resistor held in with a special little holder. 2 screws hold it on. First
check the connection. On my 97 there was a recall on the connector which
fixed my problem.

common problem,
the intake air temp sensor is located on the lower right side of the air
cleaner housing, it senses the temp of the air entering the engine .
reach under there and you will se a grey connector with 2 wires going to it,
chances are one of those 2 wires is broken.
if there is enough wire hanging out the back of the connector you can
solder it back together or use an mechanical electrical connector called a
butt splice and crimp it on to complete the circuit.
