What can I do to get the CD's out of my factory Bose 6 disc changer in my
2001 Pathfinder??? The display says "ERROR 2" . It made a grinding noise for
2 days than just went dead with the error code.   Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

Sounds to me that a disc has gotten out of position inside the changer
and the mechanism is now jammed by the disc.
Step 1:  Only do this if you consider you have the ability to work with
delicate machinery and take anti-static precautions. You need to
dismantle the mechanism and then extract the disc (without bending or
breaking the transport mechanism), have a good look to see if there is
any other obvious damage. Be careful to restore any ribbon cables
correctly if you remove them from the circuit board. In particular try
not to disconnect the ribbon cable from the laser pickup as they are
very sensitive to static electrity. Reassemble, install and see if it
works again.

Step 2:
Take it to the local electronics service agency.

Consider going straight to step 2.

I had the same problem, removed the unit as per:
http://carstereohelp.com/stereoremovalNispthfndr03StrR.htm.htm
very carefully removed the disc's and still had the error code. If you read
this forum, http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/137782.html, you will
see we are not alone. Seems this cd by Bose/ Clarian is a piece of crap to
say the least.

When mine was under warranty, the dealer replaced the unit 4 times.
Even he was disgusted at Clarion.  It still doesn't work correctly.

Its just going to do that again even if you fix it this time.  Your best bet
is to replace that POS.  Sometimes you can get your CDs out by continually
pressing and holding the eject and some of the other buttons.
