I have a 97 Nissan 4x4 king cab pickup with the 2.4 engine and 5 speed.
For the record, it has 52K miles, runs good, body is rust free and in
good condition (a few dings here and there).
Best of all, it is paid off.
It has manual windows and door locks. I would like to convert both
windows and locks to power operated. Actually, only the passenger window
need be powered, so I don't have to lean over the center storage console
to operate the window.
I know that I can go to some installer and have it done, but since I am
somewhat mechanically inclined, and frugal, I would like to do it
myself. Has anyone done it themselves, and if so, what brand products
did you use, and how satisfied are you.
Any feedback from other self installed power windows and locks on other
models would be appreciated too.

Update:
I bought a keyless entry unit off of eBay. I was able to install the
driver's door lock today.  I got a late start waiting for the temp to go
above freezing. The major problem was small spaces. Small access holes
in door. Tight fit getting the wires through the rubber wire grommets on
the door and pillar. Very little space behind the kick panel for the
unit. But it did work, except for the flashing parking lights when
activated. I ran out of time before I could figure it out. The
instructions were pretty vague and were just general wiring connections
for a nondescript vehicle.
Having looked at the accessibility inside the door, I doubt whether I
could put in aftermarket power windows.
In case anyone is interested, the motors were Autolöc, and the receiver
unit and remotes were Micro. Total $46. inc. shipping.
