how do you change the dash lights and heater (hot to cold) slide lever in a
1988 Nissan Pulsar?

If it's like my '87 (and I assume it is), I have removed the instrument
cluster, but not the console (where the heater controls are.)

There are just a few screws you have to remove. First, there is one screw to
remove for the headlight control "pod", and one for the wiper control pod as
well. They are in the bottom, you can feel them when you run your finger
under them. The pods come out and you have to undo various wiring harnesses.
If I recall, they connectors are all different in some way so that you don't
really have to pay attention, but better safe than sorry - label them in
some way.

Then there are just a few more screws, 2 really close to the clear plastic
panel of the main instrument cluster. It's pretty straightforward, just "get
low" and "look up" with a flashlight to see the screws you have to remove.
It's been a while, and I may have forgotten something, so take it easy.

thank you, I'll give it a try.  Between the two I was hoping I wouldn't
have to remove the console, but haven't really gotten under to look up.
Again, thank you--wish me luck!  LOL
