My girlfriend has a 1990 Nissan 1600 SX, fuel injection. Most of the time
when I go to get parts for it, the counter guy can never find the look up.
But it's the upgrade from the Pulsar and usually has the same parts as the
Sentra.
Anyway to get to my problem, the car has run perfectly up till now. It
starts fine and after a little warm up when I step on the accelerator it
hesitates like it's going to stall, but once I get past that it runs fine.
But when I have to stop and accelerate again it does the samething.
I know lots about cars but I'm old school. With all the electronics these
days it gets a little tough. Is this an electronic or a fuel delivery
problem? Clogged filters, electronic componet or device, or computer
setting?
Thanks for any help or ideas

I had a similar problem with a 1998 Altima. It turned out that there was a
leak in the venting from the gas tank. The tank must be sealed. I can get
the same effect if I leave the gas cap loose.

I hope that's all it is. Sounds to easy, but I will check it out.
Thanks for the advice!

Think that may have solved the problem. This morning I went out and checked
the cap and normally when you open it you will hear air rushing in, I
didn't hear it today. I tighten the cap and the car ran fine.

You are lucky that it is not a leak in the venting system.
On some of the car models, if you leave the fuel cap loose, the "Service
Engine Soon" lamp will come on. The biggest cause is a loose fuel cap.
