96 Nissan Pathfinder amp location

I just got a new cd player for my 96 Pathfinder. It works but no sound. I
was told it might be because of the factory amp. I just dont know where it
is...Can anyone help?

It's behind the platic trim, on the left side, behind the rear seat.

Thank you. Can you bypass it to get the cd player to work or do you have to
rewire?
