Point of information.
My conjecture is that many/most Nissan p/ups here in the USA are now
assembled in Tennessee.
Which are (which aren't)?
re: a reason i ask the question
Because if the pick-up is assembled in the USA, then it's an otherwise
25 percent import tax on (imported) pick-up trucks that are not
assembled in USA, according to hearing held by Senator Dorgan of N.D.
today via c-span.
Thus, Korea & Thailand where p/up trucks are made, aren't being
enticed/encouraged to export their pick-ups to USA.
Does Toyota assemble its pick-ups in the USA?
Does Mazda assemble pick-ups in USA, or because it's partly owned by
Ford, then perhaps it doesn't pay the tariff (?).
I've read that China has plans to export pick-ups to USA, apparently
despite the twenty-five percent tariff:
There's such an article I saw today or yesterday in the business
section of the NYTIMES in which China buys in toto a Brazilian truck
factory to re-assemble piece by piece and make 'em for half of what it
costs to make 'em ($15,000 in China versus $30,000 in USA or perhaps in
Brazil).
I'm not making this up.

Nissan trucks are assembled in the US, Tacomas are also and I believe the
Mazda/Ford Rangers are to.

Nissan Frontiers are assembled in Smyrna, TN. Nissan Titans are
assembled in Canton, MS where I happen to work. I believe Nissan
"trucks", are assembled in Mexico. I think they are what used to be
called Hardbody trucks that were assembled in Smyrna and subsequently
"moved" to Mexico along with the Sentra. I'm not sure they even sell the
"regular" small truck here, anymore. I could be wrong on some part of
that, but that's what I heard in Smyrna while training, and Canton.
