Can anyone tell me if a '02 xterra V6 with a bad knock sensor is running
"closed loop" or "open loop"?

If you're wondering about whether to replace it or leave it, I'd recommend
replacing -- I had one go bad in a 94 Altima and it made a world of
difference in the car's responsiveness when I finally got it replaced.
