It's not going into overdrive. How many miles? Ever change the fluid? It
could be a bad solenoid or temp sensor, or trans controller, or wiring,
or a few other things. You might want to have a trans shop look at it.

Jim,
90600 miles. Last time transmission fluid was changed was 3 years ago. The
delaer says I need a new tranny; I think they want to make 4200 bucks. I
have considered taking it to AAMCO, but was told the shop I went to for my 91
Jeep hydraulic clucth two years ago is now shut down due to numerous lawsuits
about shady business dealings. I don't know who to trust these days when it
comes to Auto Repair Shop/Mechanics. You know what I mean?
