How do you change the windshield fluid reservoir on a 1993 sentra? It seems
to be embedded in the fender assembly. Thanks...

From underneath?  You may need to remove the wheel well splash guard to
be able to see it.  What normaly leaks is the washer pump motor itself.

I filled the reservoir yesterday and the fluid just poured out. My guess -
hope - is that it's the plastic tank but I'll have to get it up on the ramps
to check it out. BTW, have you ever changed the washer pump or have any idea
of cost? Hey, thanks for the quick reply.

I did replace it in a 94 maxima and remember it was around 40 bucks.

Have replaced several Subaru pumps and they run like 80 bucks or so, but
at Advanced autoparts you can find one that fits for around 20 bucks.

You may need to use the connector from the original pump, soldered to
the wires of the new generic one, to avoid changing the wire harness in
the car.

The pump normally is held in place by an undercut in the tank and the
press fit in a rubber grummet.  A few use self tapping screws.

For an original pump i would check www.1stnissanparts.com, Chris is great.

It's been raining up here so I didn't get under the car today, but I could
get my hand in under the splash guard. My wife poured some water into the
tank and I could see it coming out from the connector at the bottom of the
tank. Got a grip on the connector and pushed it back into the tank and the
dripping stopped. I tried a little water in the tank and the windshield
washer worked, so at least I know its not the motor. I can't see the
connector fitting very well and don't know if just muscling it back it will
hold. But so far, so good. I'll get under there someday and take a better
look. I imagine that the connector is part of the pump assembly or perhaps
there are fittings from the pump to the plastic connector. Do you know and
can is that connector just pressure fitted into the bottom of the tank? Any
more info will be useful...Thanks.
