I have a 99 Nissan Altima, and the odometere has stopped working. The
speedometer works fine, but I need to replace the whole instrument
panel. Is it an instrument cluster that I need? I found one for less
than a hundred dollars, but I was quoted $400 from the mechanic for
just the part, so I'm wondering if there's something else that I need.

I don't have any solution, but I have a similar problem in my '98 Frontier.
Although my odometer isn't totally dead, the LCD on it does not display
until the truck gets to normal operating temperature.

I sure hope the repair is less than $400.00
