Intermittant Remote Operation

Have a 2001 Sentra.  Recently have been having an intermittent (getting more
frequent with time) problem when using the remote.  The Remote "door locking
and trunk open" functions work every time, however, getting the doors to
"unlock" is not a given.  Sometimes it works and other times I have to use
the key to open the door.  At first I thought that it was the my Remote
battery but the problem is still there when using my wife's remote. Any one
have a clue as to what's going on.  Is there a specific component that I can
take a look at?

My prime suspect would be the relay that drives the door locks.  Check by
swapping out with an identical relay (if there are any) from the fuse box.
This should be marked on your fuse box panel (if not get the Haynes manual).
If the problem ceases the relay is dodgy.
