Any ideas.  I bought a 2005 Frontier about 5 months ago.  When I am at
idle, (waiting at a traffic light), I notice the engine rise and
fall.  The tachometer doesn't move but the oil gauge will drop with
the sound of the engine.  I was concerned so I took it to the dealer
and was told the computer needed to be reset.  I can't say for certain
if that temporarily fix the problem but I noticed the same thing soon
after.  I went back to the dealer and was told that this is normal on
frontiers and that the oil pressure gauges were very sensitive.  I'm
not too sure about what I'm being told  but I don't know for certain.
It doesn't seem to matter if the AC is on or not.   Has anyone else
experienced this?  Is this normal for nissan vehicles.

are you using your a/c at the time? might be the a/c cycling off/on, causing
the idle to rise and fall.
try turning off the a/c the next time you're at a stop and see if your
concern continues. if it stops, you know what it is.

It doesn't seem to matter whether the AC is on or off.
