transmission problem

I cannot go faster than 40 mph, does anyone else have this problem, if
so, how did you correct the problem?

I push the clutch in, then shift from first to second.....No, please
tell us the model and year of the auto or truck your having problems
with. Auto or manual...etc.

And what the tachometer says when you get to 40.

It might not be the transmission it could be a blocked catalytic converter.
Had the same problem with a Volkswagen, it was a blocked converter. After
removing the converter the car had acquired 3 more cylinders.

I cannot go faster than 40 mph, does anyone else have this problem, if
so, how did you correct the problem?
