We are planning to buy the 2008 V6 Pathfinder this summer
but we have been reading reported transmission problems
with the Pathfinder when it shifts from around 30-40mph.
They report that the shift is rough and noisy and
Nissan has told buyers that there is NO fix for this.
Is this true? If so, we might have to look at some
other SUVs.
Thanks for any information.

Wil,
Okay...here are some reviews from owners off the CARS.COM website. Some
good and some reporting transmission problems

Check in some of the busier pathfinder forums:

Nissan is not known for correcting major vehicle defects unless they
are subject to recall, IMHO. If the vehicles are out of warranty,
don't even think of them conducting a "goodwill" program.
(The preceding is based on my experience owning several Nissans. Note
that Toyota is not much better, again IMHE. Nor do I have much respect
for "if we find a problem and tell our dealers about it, we're going
to keep it a secret" Honda).
