Lost use of window regulator

Got any advice on repairing the "regulator" for the driver's side window
of a 93 Sentra?  I took the inside panel off and saw that the regulator
(crank) that raises and lowers the window uses a cable, which broke.

It was easy enough to get to the problem, how hard is it to make the
repair?

Thanks,
Jm

Depending how its put together, it might not be repairable.  Check the
prices for a replacement regulator at the parts store chains (pep boys,
autozone, o'reilly, etc.)  They're usually pretty cheap.

If the glass is slotted to be adjustable in the track, you can save yourself
some time and effort by marking its position (grease pencil) where it is
bolted to the regulator before you take it apart.

What you will do is unbolt the window from the regulator, push it all the
way to the top & secure it with duck tape, then unbolt the regulator & motor
as a unit & fish them out through the hole in the door.  The motor should
bolt right onto the new regulator.  Don't overtighten the bolts when you put
it back in, they strip easily.
