oil pressure keeps dropping down into the red zone, changed oil sending
unit brought it up for a couple of weeks but now dropping back down and
staying, also temperature rising when oil pressure drops, also a problem
with cold hard starts in the morning, related or not? Any help would be
really great right about now!

Get a mechanical substitute gage on it, if reads too low pull the pan look
for a clogged oil pick up screen, check a few bearings for excess wear ,if
all this is ok, overhaul the oil pump. This job is not for a first timer in
engine repairs. This all assumes an engine with fairly reasonable mileage
and well maintained.
