Hello All, I have a 1985 olds delta 88 w/ 307 gas engine, here is my
problem? While driving ! once I reach 40 - 50 mph, the engine boggs down,
feels like it's going to stall. when I let off the accelerator is returns
back to idle. then I can go again til I reach 40+ mph. any Idea what would
cause this.

Keep in mind there is no computer connected to this engine. and I replaced
the carburater with a non-computer controlled Rochester quadrajet 4bbl
carb. I had a simmular problem with my ford f150, and the fix for that was
a transmission module. On the delta 88 I don't see a trany module on it???
I need help on this one.

Thank, Al

There is a fuel filter in the carb inlet fitting, pull it out and see if it
is restricted, very common on those carbs.

your engine might not be getting enough air, i’m not saying your air
filter is dirty. i dont know how to explain it exactly, but i will
try. i think that the the air pressure under your hood may be too low,
thus making the air not go into the engine. i dont know what you could
try to make it work.
maybe force more air into the engine compartment. some how.
