I'll probably regret this, as this K&N filter thing turns into something
akin to religious fanaticism with some people. I used one on an '85 Chevy
pickup with the 6.2 Diesel that I put a turbo on. Not long after I
installed it, I could feel oily grit inside the airbox. An area that was
downstream of the filter. Never saw anything like that with the paper
filters. Do some research on the internet about K&N filters. I've also got
a '99 Aurora that I am very pleased with. I'm impressed with an engine in
that car that I consider to be beautifully designed. No way in Hell is it
going to ingest that same dirt I saw in the airbox on that '85 pickup. I
don't like them. Not even a little bit. They do almost certainly pass more
air, though.

Haven't seen that problem in my car at all, but then again I don't know
where you were driving. What I really want is to open up the airbox and
let the car breathe better.

If you'll go to this website, http://aurorah.proboards47.com/ and go to the
"Aurora Performance" forum, they can tell you how to do the airbox mod. I
believe I saw that discussed there. Hope this helps.
