I have a 94 Olds 98 Regency the blower motor will not shut off even with
the key off. I was told it might be the blower relay but I can not find
it, any ideas where it might be?? I have looked under the hood on the
firewall where the other relays are also passenger side under dash no luck
any help would be great. thanks shadetreemech

According to the "component locator" feature at the AutoZone Web site your
relay should be on the firewall amongst the other relays there.  Can't
personally attest to the accuracy of this information.

Have you found the fuse for the high blower speed?

Thanks for the feed back Silver Surfer. The fuse you where talking about is
that the one marked AC blower? I did find that one and the blower stops
when I pull that fuse out.

Don't have the schematic for your machine to confirm my suspicions.  Some of
the GM vehicles have a separate fuse for the high speed only and a different
fuse for the lower speeds.  You either found the high speed fuse or else
there is only one fuse for all the speeds.  You could try running the blower
in the lower speeds with the AC blower fuse pulled to find out if there is
another one.

Is there any chance that your machine has a solid state module for
controlling the blower?  Several years ago one of my neighbors had symptoms
on his car the same as you.  The problem turned out to be a failed module.

Just thought I would let you know what the problem was. This car has
automatic climate control which I thought was standard but it is a option
well any way the problem was the blower motor resistor was bad and there
are several diferent ones. Thanks for help.

OK.  Good job on your part.  Thanks for the update.
