Have you checked the 10-amp HVAC1 fuse in the instrument panel fuse block?
Is your HVAC system automatic or manual?
It's difficult to figure out what was causing your cycling problem without
knowing which system you have.

I havn't checked anything since the door stopped opening and closing last
night. I went through each fuse that was labeled for the HVAC system or
might be part of the system. There may be a bad fuse at this time, but I
won't know till I can check (I'm not failing to locate a fuse block I
hope-one on left side of engine bay and another on left side of dash
accessible with door open). I believe this system is automatic, I has
computer climate control molded into the lower side of the control panel.
It does have manual settings though.
Thanks for your quik response to this. Jim N.

Your HVAC system is rather sophisticated. There are at least five
temperature sensors that feed into the Electronic Climate Control module.
The air temperature door actuator motor itself is equipped with a feedback
potentiometer and a logic module also. That unit might be my first choice
for looking at based on your description.
