Olds Disaster - 18 Dec 2005 17:33 GMT
I have a 1996 Olds Achieva that started to die on the road and if I want 10
minutes it will start right up. Well, we replaced the starter and CPS
(Crankshaft Positioning Sensor) and it worked well for about 2 weeks. Now I
am back to the same old s--- and the car dies after it sputters and the gages
go crazy. My security light comes on and the check engine light stays on. I
am at my wits end to try to figure it out. I need someone's help as this is
the only vehcile I have and I have to bee able to depend on it. I had it
checked on an analyizer and they found nothing wrong. But trust me, there is
something wrong and I have to get it fixed (not a lot of money to have it
done professionally) so if anyone out there knows the cure, please send me
the information as I am now desperate.

Thank you

Do you have spark and injector pulse when this happens, is the fuel pump
running?

I do have spark and injector pulse when this happens, the fuel pump is
running and the funny thing (if you can call it that) is it may run for hours
or days and then it sputters and dies.

If when it dies ,  you had injector pulse not just fuel pressure and
sufficient spark on all cylinders it would run, something is missing here.
