Any ideas:

Car won't shift first to second when cold.  Service engine light comes
on.  Speedometer flutters.  When engine warms to operating temp.
Speedometer works but tranny seems to be slipping.  Suspect electronic
problems.  But trans center mechanic said may be one of three electronic
components.  Anyone know which ones.

The tranny on my '90 Cutlass was acting up just this past weekend.  It
would act like a clutch slipping (rpm's go up, but little forward motion
would occur when giving it the gas).  So I added some fluid (less than
1qt.) and it stopped that behavior, but then it wouldn't shift easily
(but not all the time) from 1st to 2nd etc...  So I changed the
fluid/filter and after driving it a bit and getting the fluid level to
the proper level, all seems to be well.  This is a rebuilt tranny w/33K
on it so I don't expect it to last as long as the original (which lasted
190K miles), but I do hope that it will last a bit longer than 33K mi.

I can't help much with the speedo flutter (I have a digital dash), but
it does seem like you might have an electrical problem.

Finally got A code scanner.  The only diagnostic fault was the
Vehicle
Speed Sensor.  Am replacing that today.  thanks for the help

You didn't give me the code, so I looked it up and there are two codes
for the VSS: 79 and 80.  Code 79 indicates that you may have a temp
problem with your tranny or your TTS is bad.  Which code did you get?
