Hi everyone.
Swapped my snow tires for all seasons this weekend and noticed plaay in
either the left tie rod end or steering knuckle. Hard to pinpoint without
popping the tie rod out.
Is this a common failure on these cars?
It's a 2001 with just over 51k so it's out of warranty now.

thanks,
Chris

The tie rod is a common problem on many cars. Is the play just side to side
or up and down also? It could be the outer tie rod inner tie rod, wheel
bearing, or ball joint.

Seems like all of the play is in the tie rod or the bore thru the spindle. I
would hope the tie rod would wear faster than the spindle. We'll see soon
when I pull it apart.
