Hi,  got that New (old)1986 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera (2.5L Tech4) on the
road, and she works great, except for a few flaws.       The Transmission
seems strong, and it doesn't slip while accelerating, but if you take a
left hand corner fast enough, the transmission will slip out of gear,
almost as if it sliped back into Neutral for a sec, and then when you come
out of the turn, it goes back into gear.  The Fluid is topped up, and it
doesn't smell burnt, or look discoloured.  Any Ideas Anybody??
Also while I'm at it.   The car sounds harsh while accelerating
medium-hard, like maybe the motor mount is shot, and after you finish
accelerating, it's fine, and sometimes when you shift it into drive or
Reverse, or when you stop at a stop sign.  Got any thoughts on this too???
Lemme know!!!!!!!!
        Thanks Chris

Very honestly, the last two cars that did this "slip out, slip back in"
thing was a GM.  There were days they would barely move initially, and other
days, they would have a hard time changing gears.

The problem on one was a clogged transmission filter, and the other was a
bad modulator, both of which are identifiable and easily fixable, especially
if you can find a tranny man to look at it.

It sure beats a total rebuild.

Hope that something (reasonably simple) like this is what you will find.

MOST ESTABLISHED TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOPS WILL CHECK OUT YOUR TRANSMISSION
FOR FREE. BUT IF YOU HAD THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AND IT STILL ACTS UP, IT
MIGHT BE A ENGINE MOUNT. IF IT SHIFTS HARD INTO EACH GEAR THE MOTOR MOUNT
MAYBE WORE OUT AND IS EFFECTING YOUR SHIFT LINKAGE. CALL AROUND TO
TRANSMISSION SHOPS AND SEE IF THEY CAN HELP YOU, BEWARE OF THE ONES THAT
WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY. DO NOT TELL THEM WHAT YOU THINK IT MIGHT BE, THEY
SHOULD BE ABLE TO TELL YOU.
