This is not to insult your intelligence, but have you double checked to
ensure that you are using the correct replacement bulb? The service manual
says that you should be using a 4157NAK.

I know my 2000 Intrigue was burning up the bulb bases on one side and I
needed to replace the socket. I have heard of many people having this
trouble with this type of bulb. Tried cleaning up the socket and it just
burnt again after a few months. $30 to replace the socket is the only way
to fix it. I did find how to prevent it though. The dealer finally told my
friend with a Buick Century after he replaced his socket 3 times that he
should use some dielectric grease on the bulb and he hasn't had any trouble
since. This issue may be moisture related.
