Sometimes my car just stalls and has trouble starting up.  It doesn't
matter how warm the car is.  I can be 3 blocks from where I started or
drive it for a month without a problem.

When it won't start, the power windows and power seats do not work.
The fuel pump isn't running either, which is why it won't start.  I've
started to suspect that it has something to do with the wiring in the
door so when it happened yesterday, I ripped off the door panel and
started moving wires around to see if I could get it started.  When I
was moving the wires, I accidently bumped the power window switch and
the window went up.  I was able to start it.  Then I went to roll down
the window and it stalled immediately.   After more wiggling of wires,
I got it to start again and this time the window switch didn't cause it
to stall.  Figuring that it might be a faulty component in the door, I
unplugged everything in the door that I could find.  I was able to
drive to work  (20 miles) like this and there was no problem.  I drove
to lunch and back (10 miles).  No problem.   Then, when I was leaving
work, it stalled again 3 blocks from where I started.  After about 45
minutes of wiggling wires, it just started.  I drove all the way home
(30 miles)  without a problem.   When I got home, I started wiggling
wires in the door to see if I could get it to stall.  Nothing.

I should mention other circuits that seem to be having issues.  When I
start the car up in the morning, the Oil Level light is on and goes
out.  My oil level is perfect.  When the problem started, I got a
transmission code that was reporting slippage.

I know there are other people out there having this problem, too, so
I'm hoping someone had it and trully figured out what it was.  I read
something about it being a bad ground wire in the door, but I can't
find that post again.

Does anyone other there have complete wiring diagrams?  I have the ones
from the Haynes manual, which are the same ones on the AutoZone site.
They are worthless since they abridge them somehow.

I've replaced the ignition module and fuel pump so far.  I also paid
$400 for a mechanic to replace a battery cable.  (Don't get me
started!! :) )

One thing I noticed when researching this issue is that there are a lot
of 96 Olds 88s for sale with new fuel pumps.

1994 Olds 88 Royale

Hi, I also have the exact same problem with a 1994 Olds 88 Royale.
It will run great for 3 weeks or more no problems and then die 100
yards from my house.  When it dies the power windows do not work and
the interior lights are very very dim.  I also thought of a ground but
i have been reading and everyone is saying check the crank sensor .
Let me know if you found the problem.  Driving me crazy.....   Oh yeah
already took to two mechanics and they have replaced the alternator,
battery, and starter.  Now they want to replace the fuel pump...
