I have 89' Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. Today I brought
my car to a dealer shop for power steering problem.
They said power steering pump and hose were leaking,
and would cost $800 to replace them.

[Q1] Does it usually cost that much?

[Q2] Is it relatively easy to replace them? even only pump? or hose?
    or both?

[Q3] If it is, where is the good starting point?
e.g., shop for necessary parts, instructions,
          references, and so on.

Your comment will be appreciated.

First, get the hell out of the dealership!!

You should be able to get the hose replaced at any independent garage for
between $100.00 - $150.00.  Have them give you a second opinion on whether
the pump is leaking or not.  Even if the pump needs to be replaced your
bill should be a lot closer to $400.00 than what the dealer wants.

Ever owned a GM? The bill for my PS line leak is around $800.  It's snaked
all around the rear underside of the engine. You can't even get at the
steering rack with the car on a hoist.  I have no idea how they'd remove the
lines from the rack, but I do know that there is MUCH labour involved!

Actually I own a 91 cutlass and replaced the pressure hose on the power
steering last summer.  Its really not that hard if you have two elbows in
your left arm.
