89 Cutlass Ciera Spark Plugs

My son has an 89 Cutlass Cierra Cruiser that I was thinking of replacing the
spark plugs as it runs a bit rough especially at idle.  Also there is a bit
of rust on the black outside part of the plug housing (where the socket
wrench goes over) so I'm thinking that the plugs have not been changed in
years.

The manual says for the 3.3 Liter v-6 the replacement is an AC Delco type
R44LTS6 gapped at 0.045"

I removed one plug and it is an R45LTS6 - not sure what the difference is
between this and the recommended R44.  Does anyone know?

Also, I can't find my plug gapping tool but the gap on the one plug looks
suspiciously wide.  Until I can find my tool or get a new one does anyone
know of anything I can use around the house/shop that is the same width as
0.045"

Thanks,
Walter

I haven't checked the vacuum.
I used to have a vacuum gauge and I guess I'll need to find it (or
borrow one).
The illustrations on your site are very good and helpful.

Thanks,
Walter
