How do i go about changing a soft plug on a 3.8 v6? A buddy of mine took
a screwdriver to it and punched out almost the entire center of it so i
have almost nothing to grab onto or pry against to pop it out. The
existing plug is an old metal one and the new replacement is rubber. If
i cant get the remainder of the old plug out, can i just hollow it out
as good as possible and insert the new plug? It seems as though it will
fit with the outer ring of the old plug still in place. will the rubber
expand enough to seal against the old plugs outer ring? I'm in desperate
need to get this car back on the road. Please Help

I am assuming that since you punched a hold in it, hte plug is accessable.
You could try drilling a hole in it and use a dent puller with a threaded
end. Just a suggestion, I would try to use a magnet to keep the plug from
dropping into the motor or attempt to use a coat hanger or safety wire to
provide you something to hang on to if the plug happens to get push thru.
Without actually seeing it makes it a bit difficult to give sound advice.
