I own a 1989 Cutlass Calais SL, with the 2.3 liter quad 4.  My blinker
stopped working the other day.  As in, my left blinker doesn't blink
anymore, it just turns on and stays on.  The right one is fine, and my
hazard lights work fine as well, it is just the left blinker.  I believe
that it is the blinker flasher module.  Has anyone had experience replacing
one of these?  Thanks

More than likely you have a bad ground or corroded connection on the left
directional. The flasher controls the directionals and the hazards.

Totally OT, but I used to have an '89 Cutlass Calais SL with FE3 sport
suspension package, trip computer, and everything else that was available at
the time.  What an absolutely awesome car!  Second best car I've ever
owned -- behind my Intrigue.  I often wish I'd kept it.

I installed a couple of driving lights under the bumper and wired them up to
a relay that was driven by the left-front marker light (the one that comes
on with the headlights -- sometimes called "parking lights") so that the
driving lights would only come on when the marker lights were on.  That
wiring job was pretty third-rate back in '93 when I traded it in.  Left
unattended, it would probably be an electrical short just waiting to happen
by now.  Just in case you have my car . . . :-)
